Classic precision timer IC for monostable and astable multivibrator circuits, 4.5–16V supply, SOIC-8.
The NE555 is a precision timing circuit capable of producing accurate time delays or oscillation. In the time-delay or monostable mode, the timed interval is controlled by a single external resistor and capacitor. In the astable mode, the frequency and duty cycle are accurately controlled with two external resistors and a single capacitor.
